The idea for a FreiwilligenPass Berlin came from the Berlin civil society and was realised in a working group with representatives of the Senate Chancellery Berlin and the Senate Administration for Health, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection with numerous volunteers and full-time staff from associations and federations.<\/p>\n
The passport contains a proof of voluntary civic and honorary commitment and a certificate of participation in special training and further education measures.<\/p>\n
In the FreiwilligenPass Berlin, the State of Berlin and the Ecumenical Youth Services (Protestant Youth) express that voluntary civic and voluntary commitment is seen as an essential prerequisite for the security of our democratic society. Citizens who volunteer for others make an important contribution to the social community and to solidarity.<\/p>\n
Voluntary work provides the opportunity to acquire basic skills, which are also considered key qualifications for professional activities and further education.<\/p>\n
