Teamer Preparation Seminars

General information on the EYS Preparatory Seminars for volunteer Work Camp leaders
The Ecumenical Youth Services offer two free team-makers’ seminars per year, which focus on the following topics:

  • Accompaniment of group processes in linguistically, culturally and denominationally mixed groups
  • Methods and forms of intercultural learning
  • Conception and implementation of thematic work
  • Preparation of the camp theme under theological, creative and biographical aspects
  • Organisation and planning of the camp
  • Legal and insurance
  • Camp Billing
  • Camp follow-up

The seminars also serve to get to know the other team members.

The next seminars will take place on the following dates:
June, 19th – 21th 2021
October, 29th – 31th 2021

If you work for the Ecumenical Youth Services for 2 years (i.e. lead one camp per year and take part in the preparatory seminars), we can give you the Berliner FreiwilligenPass

Important: Travel expenses to the seminar (return trip) can be reimbursed:
max. 95€ for the journey from Germany on presentation of the original ticket
max. 120€ for the journey from abroad on presentation of the original ticket

The seminars take place in the Helmut-Gollwitzer-Haus in Wünsdorf.

In addition to the face-to-face seminars, digital meetings will be offered on the following dates:
Fri. Jan. 15, 2021 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Zoom (cultural dimensions, Ice-Breaker).
Fri. Feb. 26, 2021 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Zoom (diversity, ÖJD on Instagram, ice-breakers)
Fri. March 26, 2021 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Zoom (United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, camp finances, ice-breaker).
Fri. April 30, 2021 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Zoom (still open)

In addition to teaching content and expanding skills, the seminars serve to get to know the other team members.

If you work with the Ecumenical Youth Services for 2 years (i.e. lead one camp per year and participate in the preparation seminars), we can award you the Berlin Volunteer Pass.
