KvU – Church from Below in the heart of the city, on the edge of the Tiergarten

The work of the KvU is aimed in particular at children and young people between the ages of 10 and 27 and is a low-threshold, open programme. Life together is organised according to grassroots democratic principles. Cafés, concerts and theatre offer forms of togetherness alongside sport and games. The encounters between different cultures and generations are a special feature of the KvU.
At the beginning of May 2025, the KvU moved into a new (old) building and needs the help of the work camp participants with renovation and design work in the building and on the outside grounds.
The camp participants will also spend two days assisting with the holiday leisure activities at the Child Care/Pupil Care O-35. O-35 is an important contact point for children aged 6 to 14. The focus is on craft and creative activities; in addition, great importance is attached to sport and exercise.

In the free time you spend together, you can quickly get to Berlin city centre with all its sights on foot, by bike or by public transport. Berlin’s surrounding countryside and Potsdam are also not far away! In good weather, there are opportunities for swimming and boating. In addition to the excursions, we plan group activities that depend on your interests and that you help to organise, e.g. with games, songs, music, dances, workshops, themes and photos that you bring along.
